At the Embassy in Buenos Aires on February 14th, on the eve of Statehood Day, an exhibition was officially opened and a reception was held that had special significance for the Embassy of the Republic of Serbia and the Serbian Diaspora in Argentina. During the ceremony, the director of the Nikola Tesla Museum, Ivona Jevtic, addressed the guests, and on that occasion she presented Ambassador Jela Baćovic with a valuable gift - 3 replicas of Tesla's personal items: a cylinder, a pair of shoes and a pair of gloves. The donation expresses the Museum's appreciation for the Embassy's outstanding commitment to affirm Tesla's contributions to science and civilization. The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in Buenos Aires has in recent years supported the organization of exhibitions about Nikola Tesla in several cities in South America. In gratitude, Telefonika donated to this Embassy several working models of Tesla's inventions, thereby establishing the Nikola Tesla Salon at the Embassy headquarters. The gifts of the Nikola Tesla Museum will be on display in the Salon as faithful replicas of the original objects. Today, the Nikola Tesla Museum is a unique institution of science and culture in Serbia and in the world. It is the only museum that preserves the original and personal legacy of Nikola Tesla. It is the most visited museum in Serbia and also the museum with the richest and most productive international cooperation. Throughout its existence, the museum has always strived to preserve Tesla's legacy in the best possible way and to create new opportunities for presenting and studying Tesla's life and work through various activities. In addition to permanent work on conservation and digitization, in 2019, the museum also had a rich exhibit activity. The exhibitions of this museum toured Japan, Cyprus, Athens and its largest guest exhibition so far has been organized by the museum in Milan. International cooperation through guest exhibitions and the promotion of the life and work of our great scientist are planned this year as well.
