Legacy

Tesla’s legacy includes 270 photographic plates. Photographic plates are negatives on glass which in Tesla’s day were kept in order to make additional copies of photographs, or to be used for later publication in books and magazines.

They have a very high quality of photographic image but, because of the fragility of the glass and the nature of the image, they are very vulnerable to mechanical and chemical effects and light.

The photographic plates depict the scientist’s work with weak and strong current technology, Tesla’s work in mechanical engineering, views of his laboratories and photographs of texts and drawings.
